TOPIC: TRADE AND TRANSPORT AROUND THE WORLD
We all benefit from and use goods that have been bought and sold and many of these goods come from distant places. We also travel to and from school and move around in various ways, so trade and transport are important elements in our lives. In this module, we will look at this in a general way to see how trade and transport affect each other, what the main types of transport are that people use, and how these are used for different means.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completing this module, you will demonstrate that you are able to:
- Explain how different means of transport provide solutions to different challenges facing the issue of bringing goods and customers together.
- Identify and explain why people trade beyond their own immediate neighbourhood and how distance affects the value of goods and services.
- Distinguish between international and domestic trade.
- Identify and describe how international trade affects our everyday lives.
