3. Describe and apply factors that affect changes in population.

4. Define what is meant by the terms population structure  and  population pyramid

5. Read a population pyramid and draw conclusions from it.

6. Apply your knowledge of population structure to a real-life scenario.

  1. Provide short written answers to the questions posed in the slides of the presentation.
  2. Write a short (250-300 word) report on migration and South Africa’s population in which you deal with the following questions:                                                                                                                                                                                                                  (a) What influence does migration have on South Africa’s population?                                                                                                      (b) Where do most immigrants come from and why and where do most emigrants go to and why?                                                        (c) What opportunities and threats does migration pose for South Africa?                                                                                                (d) How easy is it to get an accurate picture of migration in South Africa and why?
  3. Design a diagram or write a short paragraph (180-200 words) explaining what impact COVID-19 is likely to have on our population in the long run?

SUBMISSION

Hand in your completed response on Friday 18 September 2020. This will be assessed as part of your Geography and English term mark and counts 40 marks.
